University of SC gets $5 million to study Climate Change

$5 million in Federal funds have been given to the University of South Carolina to find possible ways to curb climate change.

Officials with the University of South Carolina say that the grant will focus on deep saline aquifers in Beaufort, Colleton, and Jasper counties. The ultimate goal of the grant will try to figure out if Carbon Dioxide can be safely stored underground in places like aquifers and old oil reserves to help stop the greenhouse effect.
