News From Blue Ridge High School
Veterans Day, November 11, 2009
Air Force Junior ROTC cadets will be conducting a Veterans Day Ceremony at the football stadium, Wednesday, November 11th . Everyone is invited, especially veterans, family and friends. The ceremony begins at 11 AM, but please be in place by 10:45. We would like to keep the red student section open for veterans and guests. Parking will be available in the student parking lot, with access to the stadium through the ticket booth gate. For this special events, students are asked to park as far away from the ticket booth as possible, to provide more open spaces for visitors. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and we hope to see you there.

Fall Sports Reception
The Fall Sports Reception will be held on November 17th at 7:00. The event will be held in the BRHS cafeteria. Athletes of fall sports and their parents are invited to attend.
FFA Can Food Drive
The Future Farmers of America Club is holding a Can Food Drive for area food pantries. Third period teachers can start collecting cans November 9rd through November 20th. Pick-up will begin November 10 during. The 3rd period class that collects the most cans will win a pizza lunch. Rules: No hoarding, no outdating items, no torn or damaged items, must have original packaging/labels, 2 instant noodle packs will equal 1 can. Let’s show our community how much Blue Ridge High cares!
PTSA Volunteers Needed
PTSA needs volunteers in the canteen from 11:15 A.M. until 1:45 P.M. any day of the week. If you can volunteer, please call Lisa Varn at 423-2929
Student PTSA Membership Drive
PTSA is sponsoring a student membership drive. Homerooms that have 100% memberships will be eligible for a free movie and snacks. Membership forms are available online and in the library.
Seat Time Recovery
Seat Time Recovery starts on November 17th at Greer High and November 21st, Saturday at BRHS. Parents and students should be aware of attendance status. You must submit paperwork by Wednesday of the week you are requesting to serve STR.
Congratulations To Bryan Ross
Bryan Ross, senior wide receiver, has been chosen to play in the North/South All Star Game to be held in Myrtle Beach on December 12th. Congratulation Bryan and good luck!
Congratulations to the Corps of Cadets
Congratulations to the Corps of Cadets for placing 2nd at the AAA State Marching Band Championships. Our band students endured a down pour of rain to give a very strong performance. We are very proud of the way our band represented Blue Ridge High School!!!
