Learn the basics of Irish dancing. Ceili dances are fun, appropriate and easy to learn for ages 6 to seniors. Participation is low-key and can be interchanged with seating breaks whenever the dancer wants to…

Sat., Feb 20: “Molly Malone” Parade – FREE
10:30-11:30am at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, Beaufort
Children 10 and under are invited to bring kazoos and decorated wheelbarrows/floats (commemorating Molly Malone and her “Cockles & Mussels, Alive, Alive-O”), children will parade through Waterfront Park. Sat., Feb 6: “Queensborough: Ireland on the Ogeechee before the Revolution
7:00-8:00pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ladys Island. Professor Howard J. Keeley of Georgia Southern University Center for Irish Studies will speak about the two decades preceding the Revolutionary War in which the Irish were pioneer’s on Georgia’s “Wild West” frontier along the Ogeechee River between Savannah & Augusta. Keeley will share archival documents and archaeological evidence.
Sat., Feb 13: “Lady Gregory: Rebel Mother of the Irish Renaissance”
7:00-8:00pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ladys Island. Professor Marti D. Lee of Georgia Southern University Center for Irish Studies will speak about Lady Augusta Persse Gregory’s contributions to Irish literature and culture as author, translator and folklore collector and founder of the Abbey Theatre. Lee will also discuss Gregory’s true rebel nature and desire to lignite the Irish Literary Renaissance.
