South Carolina Crime Report: Mexican drug cartel growing in SC

cocaineAccording to Reggie Lloyd, Director of South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division, Mexican drug cartels that used to enjoy Atlanta, Georgia are heading to rural and suburban areas of South Carolina. Lloyd says that Atlanta’s attempts to fight the cartels have been so successful that they are leaving Atlanta for quieter bases of operation, according to a Charlotte Observer report.

He adds that South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina should be prepared to deal with this imminent threat to public peace and safety.

“We know there’s a wave coming,” he was quoted to say.

Lloyd told students at Winthrop University that South Carolina is already seeing negative impacts of the cartels’ presence in local communities. A shooting in Rock Hill, South Carolina that occurred last December is believed to have resulted from high-level drug trafficking. The shooting left one person dead. Marvin Brown, who is with York County’s drug unit says that named cartels are in his jurisdiction.

While the cartels continue to receive $10 BILLION a year selling marijuana in the US they will *never* go away! The prohibition on marijuana has been in place for seventy years now and yet marijuana is more available today than if it were legal. Since the US government, DEA and law enforcement are *incapable* of preventing marijuana from being bought, sold and smoked the only humane thing to do is allow reputable US businesses to undercut the cartel’s marijuana prices.

We can either watch these butchers bring violence to one place after another or we can get rid of them forever by allowing marijuana to be sold to adults in stores beside alcohol and tobacco where children won’t be able to buy it and the cartels won’t be able to undercut it.
