The prohibition on marijuana has been in place for seventy years now and yet marijuana is more available today than if it were legal. Since the US government, DEA and law enforcement are *incapable* of preventing marijuana from being bought, sold and smoked the only humane thing to do is allow reputable US businesses to undercut the cartel's marijuana prices. We can either watch these butchers bring violence to one place after another or we can get rid of them forever by allowing marijuana to be sold to adults in stores beside alcohol and tobacco where children won't be able to buy it and the cartels won't be able to undercut it.
