South Carolina State takes down Delaware State in MEAC Semi finals

They had to take it to overtime but South Carolina State beat Delaware State in Winston-Salem, NC 70-66.

The South Carolina State Bulldogs were led by Jason Flagler who had 19 points and 8 rebounds. Flagler hit a layup with 43 seconds left in the first overtime period to give SC State a 67-66 lead. Cario Bennett was put on the free throw line and hit one of his two shots. Rio Pitt put in the miss to put the final touch on the final score.

South Carolina State finished the regular season third in the conference, right behind Delaware State. The Bulldogs face Morgan State in the finals. Morgan State finished first in the conference. SC State and Morgan State have split the two previous meetings this year, each one winning on the road.
